How Our Employment Services Help Adults Living with IDDs

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, and at RISE Services, Inc. Idaho, we are proud to be one of many organizations that help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) find meaningful employment. Having a job is about more than earning an income. Through our employment services, individuals can develop new skills, discover new interests, and lead meaningful and productive lives.

How Our Employment Services Help Adults Living with IDDs

Set Vocational Goals

Our Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors work one-on-one with individuals who want to be employed. They take time to learn about the interests and skills of the individuals we support and help them set employment goals. In addition, our counselors offer personalized support services to each individual throughout the job search process. This may include job coaching, job readiness training, benefits planning, job placement, follow-along services, and community-based work evaluations.

Work with Local Employers

RISE Services, Inc. Idaho has worked diligently to build strong employment partnerships with local businesses. Through these collaborations, employers provide job opportunities that align with the skills and interests of our participants, while RISE Services, Inc. Idaho offers training and coaching to prepare candidates for available positions. We deliver several other benefits for local businesses and employers:

  • Post local job openings, offer resume and reference screening, and coordinate interview schedules
  • Deliver customized short- and long-term job support based on each employee/employer partnership
  • Reduce the federal tax liability of Idaho employers with the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC)

Learn About the WIPA

Employable teens and adults who live with disabilities may benefit from the Work Incentives Planning and Assistance Program or WIPA. Our Community Work Incentives Coordinators provide benefits counseling to Social Security Disability beneficiaries who want to find or return to work. They offer support in many ways:

  • Answer questions regarding the effects of employment on benefits
  • Help beneficiaries understand all options if they choose to work
  • Support individuals as they decide whether or not to search for jobs
  • Assist adults in making successful transitions to self-sufficiency
