RISE Idaho: Supporting Youth as They Age Out of Foster Care
For many foster youth, aging out of foster care can mark a significant transition. At RISE Services, Inc. Idaho, our mission is to provide opportunities for youth who reach this milestone to learn independent living skills, access helpful resources, and move forward with hope for their future. We offer these supports through workshops and programs that help individuals move confidently into adulthood.
Building Core Competencies for Independent Living
One of the most pressing needs for youth aging out of foster care is learning the skills necessary for living independently. At RISE Services, Inc. Idaho, we provide regular workshops for youth focused on teaching these vital skills. Topics include:
- Personal finance management: Budgeting, saving, and credit education
- Employment skills: Resume writing, job searching, and interview preparation
- Housing resources and supports: Guidance in finding safe, affordable housing and understanding leases
- Goal setting: Helping youth identify their aspirations and create actionable plans
These workshops are tailored to each participant’s needs, so everyone receives meaningful, accessible instruction.
Personalized Support and Case Management
At RISE Services, Inc. Idaho, the process starts by helping youth and young adults define their goals for independent living. Our team collaborates with individuals and their guardians or foster families to pinpoint areas where extra support is needed, whether it’s employment, housing, or life skills. Our ongoing Case Management Services team then offers continued guidance in identifying resources and accessing supports as youth make this major life transition.
RISE Services, Inc. Idaho recognizes that independence looks different for everyone, and approaches fostering empowerment with respect and flexibility. The goal is not only to provide immediate skills but to build lasting foundations for personal growth and confidence.
Why These Supports Matter
Transitioning out of foster care can be an exciting but daunting experience. Young people who participate in skills-based workshops and personalized supports are more likely to find stable employment, maintain housing, and engage more in community life. That’s why at RISE Services, Inc. Idaho, we’re committed to supporting these outcomes for all foster children so they can navigate adulthood with knowledge, resilience, and hope.
